The Comm Lab would like to thank all of the tutors and lab assistants who helped make Documentation Day 2010 a success.

This year's event was the second Documentation Day we've had, and I think it went well.

The highlight of the event had to be the wonderful, fat-making cake, which looked lovely.  We should thank Rachel for doing such a great job of getting us this delicious confection to draw students in to learn about plagiarism.

Next, the workshops provided an interesting fare for students, interested in both avoiding academic dishonesty and in creating new works for people to read and analyze.

Nick's workshop on academic dishonesty highlighted the consequences of plagiarism and how a student can avoid them.  Lydia's workshop on fiction writing gave students a plan for organizing their creativity that can be used to create thrilling literary experiences.

Even though these workshops didn't see the attendance we would expect at the normal workshop series events, these further highlighted the Comm Lab's role as promoter of academic enlightenment on the OCCC campus.

It is important that all of the staff in attendance today know that the Comm Lab is aware of your contributions to the lab's mission, both on Documentation Day and in general.  We are glad to have you all; it will be a very exciting year.
